4 stars for a great spot for lunch! This is a great spot for yummy Italian food. I've been here a handful of times for lunch and each time I usually get something on the lunch special menu. 2 slices of pizza and a drink for $5.99 isn't bad. I also get my drink to-go which is an added bonus. Their pizza is awesome, thin-crust and pretty large sizes. And if that wasn't enough warm bread and butter is also provided before the meal. Another tip, I would suggest getting a side of meatballs and sauce with you meal, these are also excellent!

My wife and I found this place purely by accident and WOW! were we super surprised. The people are friendly, the service is terrific and the food is out of this world! The calzones are gigantic, delicious, and very reasonably priced. My wife's lasagna was to die for. We liked Filomenas so much that we invited our closest family and friends -- we had a table of 12 for dinner! Great place, don't miss it!

I'm always trying new places and ending up disappointed. Not here! We ordered a medium pepperoni pizza, hot wings, and mozzarella sticks and all were completely devoured. The pizza had a thin and crispy crust, and the sauce was delicious! I've found my new place :)

Good pizza and good garlic rolls. I ordered a cheese pizza and a pepperoni pizza. Both were good. We also ordered a dozen garlic rolls. They were very good. They did not taste like the generic garlic rolls you get at every other place. My only complaint is I hate the music that plays on their website.

Best wings EVER! Get them extra crispy garlic :-). Everything is good there but since having the wings I can't seem to think of anything else!

Good pizza and is obviously well enjoyed by the locals. Will come back when we can enjoy a more leisurely meal. Friendly wait staff and good parking. Too bad it sits at the end of a deserted strip mall.

Where has this place been all my life? Seriously, it's so good! We only live about 2 miles from Filomena's, but didn't even know it was here until we did a search on Yelp for restaurants near us. I'm so glad we did. The service was friendly and fast. The food portions were generous. The bread was to die for. The meals were heavenly. I got the Shrimp Diavlo - 8 shrimp in a spicy marina sauce served over your pasta of choice. It comes with a salad and bread. I chose the tossed salad with house dressing. My husband ordered the Chicken Penne a la Vodka. He chose the Ceasar salad and it also came with bread. The salads were ice cold and crisp. The house dressing was a red wine vinaigrette and it was really good. The Caesar dressing didn't seem to be a regular Caesar dressing, but my husband said it was really good. The Shrimp Diavlo was delicious! It's pretty spicy, so make sure you have the mouth and stomach for spicy before ordering. My ONLY complaint from this entire meal was that the shrimp were a bit overcooked. It pains me to say that because everything else was wonderful. My husband's Chicken Penne a la Vodka was SO good, too. The chicken was juicy and tender. The sauce was decadent. Their bread tasted homemade (I forgot to ask if it was) and it was EXCELLENT! They also serve beer and wine, which we had. And, we had enough left over to bring home for lunch tomorrow. They even gave us some fresh, piping hot bread to bring home! As we left, we checked out the desserts and brought two home. I chose the Limencello cake, my husband chose the red velvet cake. We haven't tried them, yet....because we're still so full from dinner...but they look amazing! Since we live so close, we will definitely be going back again very soon! If you're in the area, try them. You won't be sorry!

Just finished eating lunch here. We arrived while there was bridal shower taking place. With almost a full house we were seated immediately. All the service staff were extremely friendly and knowledgable and we were treated like we were the only customers in the restaurant. The food was brought to our table at the appropriate temperatures. The hot food was hot. The cold food was cold. Everything that we ate was delicious. Perfectly prepared and presentation was very nice. We also saw food on other tables and it looked delicious too. We would recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for a good place to eat.

There's some signage saying they've been in business for ever x-number of years, but this is a new establishment that is run by the same folks that brought us Vivona's and they suck more than Vivona's did on their worst day. I've tried, on a couple of occasions, to get a menu just to see what they are offering. First time I asked, they were just opening and I was told that they didn't have any yet. Many moons later, I hobbled in to ask again and was told that they don't have any menus at all. Ooookaay? When there was a Groupon offer for Filomina's I figured it was a good opportunity to finally check them out. I get seated-almost. There's a salt and pepper shaker in the chair. Dude seating me half-heartedly apologizes, but doesn't remove them. Ooookaay? Female server comes over, I show her the Groupon, and after speaking to someone in the back, she advised that I cannot use it unless I am a party of two, regardless of the amount of food I order. She says all of that with an exasperated sort of, "fuck you, cheap bitch," tone and expression. Ooookaay? I just want to eat some Italian-ish food and spend my money. So, I go across the street to Tutto Benne yelp.com/biz/tutto-bene-… . OK.

Walked in there and waited for 5 whole min before anyone greeted me. there was a waitress playing on her cellphone at the end of the store looked straight at me and completely ignored me. Someone else finally walked to the front to greet me and his greeting was what do you want! Seriously! It did not smell like food in there at all! I even asked him if they were open for business. there was no menu when i asked to see one he again asked well what do you want and I'll tell you if we have it! told him i wanted a slice of pizza, and i wanted to see the pie. he directed me to the back of the store and when i saw the pies i didn't know they were real they look like they have been sitting out for days!!! I asked if he could make a new pie I would buy the whole pie. He told me no he will reheat the one sitting out. I turned around walked out and never returned. I discovered another pizza place across from it called TUTTO BENE BEST pizza and staff ever. Don't waste your time or money at Filomena's.

Filomenos is a great little restaurant. They make everything fresh and great size portions. Prices are very reasonable. Great family feel with unique desserts that are too good to turn down so save room. We go often and love it! The Turners

Best New York style pizza in Lake Mary! We have searched all over northern Seminole county for authentic new york style pizza and have found it. The dough is seasoned well, has a crispy crust and is just the right thinness. The sauce, toppings and cheese are fresh and taste home made. Monday's and Wednesday's special is a 16 NY style, I suggest you try it!

I'll never go there again. There wasn't any great part of my experience and lots of bad parts. Starting with the mozzarella sticks, the cheese wasn't bad but not stringy at all. The breading was flavorless and over-cooked. Then came our salads. I asked our server what was on the salad and she couldn't give me a full description forgetting to mention the carrots. She also couldn't remember all the dressings that were offered and when I specifically asked what the house dressing was she said oil and vinegar. According to another review that would be red wine vinegar. When we got the salads the tomato was days old, the iceberg lettuce was cut extremely small and tasted like it hadn't been washed. They also added on onions which were sliced so thin and were so old that they had no flavor. The dressing came in a plastic ramekin with a lid, who does that? Now onto the bread, the one food that wasn't terrible. The bread was not overly flavorful but it was fresh and tasted like it was the same bread they use for pizza dough. Again, not delicious but not bad. Finally our entrees came out about 25 minutes after the salad and bread (the restaurant wasn't even half full) and my sausage and peppers were barely edible. The onions were cooked close to caramelization and the peppers (red and green) were completely limp and tasteless. The sausage was so thin I thought it was mushrooms at first and it's super spicy. Not only did the menu not mention that the sausage was spicy but our server didn't mention it either. The red sauce tasted like it came from a cheap jar of store-bought pasta sauce and my penne was way over-cooked. To top it all off, my husband selected the wrong Groupon, the one for 4 people instead of 2 so the server (not the one getting our tip mind you) said we could still use it as long as we ordered 4 entrees. This was all before we received our entrees so we ordered more food to-go. A few minutes later, after our crappy food had arrived we were told that "Jose, I mean Luigi" will let us order the 4 entrees this time but next time we would have to bring more people. Our bad for buying the wrong Groupon and props to the girl for working with us but the food was terrible!! Oh, and my husband ordered steak but was never asked how he wanted it cooked. It was served tough.

If I could give this place no stars, I would. The waiter was polite but was extremely inexperienced and didn't come back to the table for over 45 minutes. Our food was cold when it arrived, the marina sauce was sour, the chicken marsala was spongy and smelled like a NYC dumpster. The sauce was pure water and had no flavor (just that smell)... I am always willing to give new places a try but this is one place I wish I hadn't. Heading to a drive thru for something better...

Everything here is spot on. The owners are amazing and go above and beyond. This is the closest to NYC pizza. I have hooked many people on this place. The negative reviews are shocking as I believe none of them to be true. I eat here once a week and NEVER had an issue.

My Family of 6 were and still are THRILLED to have found Filomena's Pizzeria Ristorante! We have visited here several times and would do so MORE often, if not for our busy schedule with the kiddos! Our "must have" dishes are: Meat Lasagna, Penne a la Vodka, Fettucine Alfredo and Pizza is GREAT too! I also enjoyed their Tomato Basil Soup and am sure I've missed a dish!?! Food is presented NICELY and HOT HOT HOT! This part being important as my husband prefers his food temp as HOT as possible! All has always tasted FRESH and the complimentary bread is YUMMY! OH! How could I have forgotten to mention the AMAZING base Marinara Sauce!?! It is so TASTY that we use the bread to finish up every drop! Have never had any issue with the Salad which I feel is presented nicely too! We have commented amongst ourselves and to others that Filomena's has taken over Olive Garden as a Casual Italian Eatery. Competitive pricing and BETTER tasting! So BYE BYE Olive Garden!!! Now, when it comes to the few negative reviews, I must say myself and hubby were SHOCKED! I can only conclude that they must come from a Competitor that from reading reviews is located somewhere across the street from this establishment, or from someone who expected a FINE ELITE Dining on a budget (altho Filomena's does HIT High Marks n Kudos for providing MORE than your $$$'s worth in QUALITY and Quantity of food was acceptable too) or from possibly a "bad and I would think SUPER RARE experience" that am sure would be remedied by the owner. They appear to be approachable, kind, take pride in their business as a reflection of themselves, hardworking and TALENTED in what they prepare! Yes, the servers at times were young, inexperienced and could use some more training...BUT, it never bothered me because am GRATEFUL that there are such establishments that are of the "Mom n Pop" type that allow for YOUNG or 'NEW to Serving' employees a chance to begin GAINING experience there. Gotta start SOMEWHERE and when you imagine it as your own Teen to Young Adult giving this tough job a "go", kind heartedly you can overlook this. If you're not, then head to Enzo's on the Lake,, Stefano's or Antonios! But REMEMBER... you'll be paying a PRICE for that added EXPERTISE of a Server. Filomena's .... Continue making GREAT Valued, QUALITY n Delicious Food! I hope to visit you VERY SOON as have had an URGE for the Meat Lasagna and TASTY Sauce! How Blessed are we to have you NOT too far away! More Lake Mary, Sanford, Winter Springs and Longwood folks need to come by! Last time we dined there I saw 2 Officers MUCH ENJOYING a relaxing meal there! AWESOME!!! :)

It's been my experience, when the hostess says "... sit wherever you'd like", you can expect passive, mediocre service. My theory still stands after visiting Filomena's. The waitresses here are really sweet but need some consistent, experienced coaching, ASAP. The food here is decent. The portions were plentiful and leftovers provided next day's lunch. The garlic knots were the star of the show and rocked with the cold beer I had on this visit after a long day. The place could definitely use a face lift. This was my first visit here for dinner using Groupon. I will come back to give the takeout pizza a try.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
